Dos Pueblos High School hosted its first pep rally of the 2025-2026 school year today. The fall pep rally took place during seminar in the Greek Theatre, and featured fall sports teams: golf, football, and tennis. The pep rally concluded with a jousting competition, where students from each grade participated, along with teacher Kevin Ahlers and two students dressed as DPHS school mascot Charlie the Charger.

About the Contributors
Leo Quinkert, News Editor
Leo Quinkert (12) spends his free time practicing architectural photography by taking photos of different buildings around Santa Barbara. “The camera is from the ‘50s, so the photos that you create with it have the look of an old photo, which looks nice for these old buildings,” Leo said. As a news editor for The Charger Account, he enjoys journalism because it allows him to take photos and interview students around campus. He is also a member of the Ethnic Studies Now! club, where he participates in forms of activism such as their recent walkout.
Madelynn Le, Features Editor
Madelynn Le (12), born and raised in Santa Barbara, enjoys spending time in the Ethnic Studies Now! club, in which she is the vice president. Madelynn also volunteers at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on weekends, where she escorts and assists patients and visitors. “I think it’s nice to be able to meet people and try to brighten their day even with small acts,” Madelynn said. When she’s not making people smile, Madelynn likes to listen to punk music because of the inspiring messages it sends, as well as spending time with friends, and creating art.

Joel Cuevas, Design Editor
Joel Cuevas (12) enjoys playing his grandfather’s acoustic guitar along with an electric guitar in his free time. His passion for music is expressed through his favorite songs, including “I Want Wind to Blow” by The Microphones, which he learned completely by ear. “I like learning songs by ear because it feels really rewarding,” Joel said. The next song he wants to learn is “Flimsier” by King Krule. At school, Joel is in the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy and wants to study mechanical engineering after graduating.
