Back to school night for the 2024 spring semester was canceled due to a power outage on campus. Now, there will be a slideshow where each teacher will make a slide outlining what they would have said at back to school night. This is scheduled to be sent out on Wednesday Feb. 14.

The slideshow is happening because teachers are only contractually required to stay after school for one day for back to school night.

“We actually fell back on an old COVID plan or procedure,” said Assistant Principal Ian Perry. “Essentially we have a giant slideshow … and we’re going to be basically having the teachers throughout the next week construct their slide.”

The slide for each teacher will contain their periods one through four, their syllabus, along with their contact information. The plan for having back to school as a slideshow will only apply for the one that was scheduled for Wednesday Feb. 7 since it got canceled due to a power outage.
