The Dos Pueblos fall play, which has been in the works since the beginning of the school year, had its opening night on Nov. 9.

“Almost, Maine” is a play written by John Cariani with original music by Julian Fleisher. Emily Libera, the play director and the theater teacher at DP is “really excited” to be able to showcase the play due to the amount of work that everyone has put into this production.

“There is a lot of work … students have to memorize lines and memorize their blocking and work on character choices,” Libera said. “It’s really rewarding work, so I’m really excited for them to finally be able to showcase it.”

The play is set in a fictional town called “Almost, Maine” and follows different couples and relationships, circling around the ideas of love, loss, and hope.

“It’s really fun,” Libera said. “There’s serious moments, and then really hilarious, comedic moments, so you get a bit of everything from this show.”

The play will be in the Elings Performing Arts Center and consists of nine scenes and will run for two hours with a 15 minute intermission. The opening night for this play was Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.. Other dates for the play were Nov. 10, and Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and tickets for the closing night Nov. 16 are sold out.
