As the school year comes to a close, there are a few things that need to be done before the summer. In this senate meeting, senators were presented with information, including new class officers and a closing chapter for graduating seniors.

May: This month celebrates the culture of Asian-Pacific Americans and Pacific Islanders. You can support people of these heritages by watching TV shows and movies that include AAPI, reading books by AAPI authors, and researching why the month is important.

FUN FACT: In May, the first Japanese immigrants arrived in the United States, and after the completion of the transcontinental, more than 20,000 Asian immigrants followed!

SBCC: Dual enrollment is now open!

SBCC Seniors: Make sure to update your SCOIR account so your counselor doesn’t have to chase you down right before graduation.

Note: FAFSA and the Dream Act are still open; submit them as soon as possible. Otherwise, submit the opt-out form.

Seniors: If you get a D or an F at the end of the school year, which for seniors is June 5 (senior check-out day), you will need to make up those classes through summer school.

Summer school dates:
Session 1: June 12-June 30
Session 2: July 3-July 20th
