About the Contributors
Joel Cuevas, Design Editor
Joel Cuevas (12) enjoys making digital art in Adobe Photoshop, playing video games, and hanging out with his dog, Roxy. “I like chasing Roxy around in the backyard in circles, because she never gets tired and really enjoys it,” Joel said. In his free time, Joel plays the electric guitar, which he learned to do when he was 10 years old. Joel’s favorite part of playing the guitar is that it gives him the opportunity to learn the chords to his favorite songs. “It’s really fun, but it also feels productive because I’m actually doing something,” Joel said.
Leo Quinkert, News Editor
Leo Quinkert (12) enjoys photographing historic buildings and documenting how they change over time. “You’ll go to a certain place and it’ll look one way, and then when you go back a week or a month later, it’ll be completely different,” Leo said. This year Leo took up the role of News Editor role for The Charger Account. His advice for anyone interested in journalism is to “stick it out” through the foundation phase. “It gets really, really good after the first [couple of] weeks,” Leo said. “Once you start interviewing people and writing stuff, it’s so much fun.”
Madelynn Le, Opinions Editor
Madelynn Le (12) has a passion for helping others, leading her to become the vice president of Dos Pueblos High School’s Ethnic Studies Now! club. She also volunteers at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital every Sunday, where she’s racked up over 300 volunteer hours. Madelynn is a naturally talkative person and seeks out making connections in her community. “I enjoy meeting new people,” Madelynn said. “I like to compliment people when I meet them … It’s a great way to build and connect, so I find that enjoyable.”
