Mother Earth’s Song

Sun behind a eucalyptus tree at Arroyo Burro beach.
Sun behind a eucalyptus tree at Arroyo Burro beach.
Sofia De La Cruz

Down, down the river,

I’m running wild and free

Up in the trees,

I can feel the breeze

Take a look around

From the sky to the ground

There’s no doubt about it

The earth is all around

Open up your heart

and your nose and your ears

Smell the flowers bloom

The robins sing and cheer

When you love Mother Earth,

You sure enough will learn

She’s loved you all along,

Draw a smile in the dirt!
