Location of bee swarm

On Friday Oct. 13 at 2:56 p.m. teachers were alerted of a bee swarm on campus via the app, “Crisis Go,” and instructed to put their classroom on lockout.

A lockout requires that teachers lock all windows and doors for a nearby situation such as nearby criminal activity, animals on campus — or in Dos Pueblos’ case — a bee swarm. A lockout is different from a lockdown, a lockdown is designed to protect students from an immediate threat, such as an intruder or nearby police activity, however, a lockout is meant to protect students from potential threats to their safety, such as a wild animal on campus or criminal activity in the nearby area.

Just before 3:30 p.m. the lockout was released and classrooms could return to normal. Students were also instructed to avoid the flagpole area while leaving campus due to the bee swarm having settled there.

At the bell, DP students were able to safely leave the campus and go home.

And then they discontinued them. I like the boba kits, because you just like microwave them.”
