Goleta Lemon Festival
The Goleta Lemon Festival celebrates Goleta’s heritage as an outstanding lemon-growing region and honors the first commercial planting of lemon trees in California in 1875. Last weekend on September 24th and 25th, the 29th Annual Goleta Lemon festival took place at Girsh Park. On the 24th the festivities started at 10:00 a.m. and continued until 6:00 p.m. September 25th it also started at 10:00 a.m., but only continued until 5:00 p.m.
The festival was full of fun games and events for adults and kids alike. Games included mini golf, archery tag, and obstacle courses as well as an entertainment show from the people who keep us safe such as firefighters, policemen, and ambulances. The show contained the state-of-the-art technology our protectors use while on duty and also the vehicles they use while keeping us safe. The Lemon festival also featured a car show full of classic cars. The show had cool classic cars that ranged from corvettes, chargers, trucks, and even pickups. This year they also included motorcycles and bicycles. More entertainment was provided, including performances from local music groups and artists so that you could dance the day away.
