Richard Rockenbach (12) started his journey with visual media in elementary school, shooting for their morning news and taking photos on his dad’s cameras. After joining DP News during his freshman year, he took a more serious interest in media arts, and has since spent over a year building a website to showcase his work. While he notes that filming and editing is “miserable,” he finds himself continually drawn back to filmmaking. ”Every step of the process is absolutely awful,” Rockenbach said. ”That being said, I keep doing it, so some parts of it are enjoyable. It’s like running — no one actually likes it but they can’t stop”
