At the start of the 2025-2026 National Football League season, football has been a topic of discussion among the student body and faculty of Dos Pueblos High School. The California teams, such as the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Chargers, and Los Angeles Rams are popular teams among DPHS.

DPHS students shared they are fans of certain football teams because the teams are based in their home state, California. Seth Bloom (10) said he roots for the 49ers because he was born in the Bay Area, and Bennly Cartagena (11) added he is a fan because the team is from the Bay. Seth Orozco (10) reported liking the Rams, due to LA’s close proximity to Santa Barbara.
DPHS Activities Director Scott Guttentag is also a fan of the Rams. While he started as a Charger fan because the Rams moved to St. Louis, MO, however now that the Rams are back in LA he prefers them again.

Evan Pinsker (12) is a Chargers fan, largely in part to their quarterback, Justin Herbert.
“They’re from LA and they’re a close team,” Pinsker said. “I’ve liked them ever since [Justin Herbert] joined the Chargers.”
Other students and faculty interviewed by The Charger Account favored the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, who played in last season’s Super Bowl. The 2025 Super Bowl game resulted in an Eagles win over the Chiefs with a score of 40-22.
Joseph Zamora, the DPHS Basketball coach and Physical Education teacher said he is a longtime Eagles fan.
“Back in the day I used to watch Randall Cunningham,” Zamora said. “He was drafted by the Eagles, and I followed them through.”
The 2025 Super Bowl game was held at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, La. on Feb. 9, 2025. The halftime show featured Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
