SloDoCo, a business based in San Luis Obispo, offers Goleta a variety of donut options, from a marshmallow galaxy donut to a chai cream cheese pillow. Since its initial opening on Oct. 9, 2024, the local chain has quickly gained a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars on Yelp. SloDoCo is open 24/7 except on holidays.
SloDoCo supervisor Sean Buechele has been working at SloDoCo for more than a month and said that living down the street from the store has made getting to work easier. Buechele was promoted early on, due to the company’s fresh start, and felt managing has been “pretty easy” since it’s a “low-stakes job.”
“Right now, we’ve probably got about two dozen students hanging out, buying something once an hour,” Buechele said. “But coming in on a Saturday or Sunday morning, the vibe is a little bit more hectic.”
SloDoCo offers over 100 different donuts year-round on its menu, introducing seasonal specials around the year. The store features donuts with unique toppings, including coconut donuts that come with a lemonade squeeze bottle to create their yellow snow donut, a ‘Christmas special,’ and gingerbread-man shaped donuts.
“I love our spinach and artichoke dip croissant; I could eat that everyday for lunch if I could,” Buechele said. “I don’t drink coffee, so I go for our chai tea lattes.”
