The 2022 Qatar World Cup ended in an intense final between Argentina and France. Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María scored giving Argentina a 2-0 advantage in the first half. It seemed that Argentina had the clear win but in the 80th minute, Mbappe scored a penalty and a minute later Mbappe scored again, tying the game 2-2, forcing extra time. In the 108th minute, Messi scored a rebound that barely crossed the line before it was kicked out. France was again given a penalty in the 118th minute before the game ended, Mbappe scored, tying the game 3-3 and sending them to penalties. After an intense penalty shootout, Argentina came on top beating France 4-2 in penalties.
