The front door of the main office at Dos Pueblos High School, along with classroom H-17, were vandalized early this morning. DPHS Principal Bill Woodard said that custodians discovered the damages when they arrived in the morning.

According to DPHS School Resource Officer George Hedricks, the windows of math teacher Katie Mendenhall’s classroom were shattered before the glass front door of the main office was broken. The damaged windows and door were boarded up by the end of the first period.
At this point in time, Mendenhall’s classes have been temporarily relocated to H-30 while repairs are made to her classroom.
While Hedricks said he was unable to give details due to the ongoing police investigation, he believes that the vandalism was done with a “blunt force object.” He said the motive for the vandalism is currently unknown.
Both Hedricks and Woodard said they believe that the vandalism was random and not directed at Mendenhall’s classroom.
Woodard said that the police are “exploring some promising leads,” but couldn’t provide any further details.
“It could be a student … it could be an adult, we don’t know,” Woodard said. “Personally … I would be very surprised if it was a DP student.”
