The Dos Pueblos High School Girls Lacrosse Team beat Thacher High School 18-7 in their home game on Thursday. The win followed their last game against Thacher, which was lost in overtime.
The Chargers had a significant lead early in the game, finishing the first quarter with a score of 7-1. They added four points in the second quarter, making the score at the end of the first half 11-3. The momentum continued in the second half, and the third quarter ended with a score of 16-4. The Chargers ended the game with a score of 18-7, securing a win for DPHS.
“We have made a couple of changes to our lineup and the way we defend the ball, and it is paying off,” coach Dan Feldhaus said in a press release. “Our team is playing well, and we are motivated to keep riding this momentum into next week as we host both Santa Barbara and San Marcos.”
Linnea Clapinski (11) set a personal best and a team record during Thursday’s game, with seven total goals. Reagan Arnold (12) scored six goals and an additional three assists. Chloe Gotsis (12) scored five goals, and Eloise Shea (12) scored four. Goalie Stella Lawler had nine saves.
“We were really working together as a team, and we were clicking on all parts of the field,” Shea said.
Their next game will be next Tuesday against Santa Barbara High School at home. It is also senior night for girls lacrosse.
