The Dos Pueblos Boys Soccer Team played their first game of the season against Carpinteria High School on December 2. After multiple cancellations of the original season opener, the boys took the field at Scott O’Leary Stadium for the first game of the 2022 season. The game was initially scheduled to be held at Carpinteria High School but was moved to Dos Pueblos due to the anticipated rain.

Despite being down players, the boys kept the score at an even 0-0 through halftime, paced by the offense of Fin Silver (12) and overall play of Gio Jimenez (12). Ethan Foong (12) led Dos Pueblos’ defensive line and managed a Carpinteria offense alongside the play of goalkeeper Liam Harris (11).

The slippery conditions did not stop the play of Tiago Rodriguez (10). Rodriguez was selected as the “man of the match” and created multiple opportunities across the field for the Chargers.
However, the night did not end in victory for the Chargers. Dos Pueblos scored an own goal in the final minutes of the game giving Carpinteria the go-ahead goal to win the game. The game ended with a score of 1-0 with the win going to the Carpinteria High Warriors. The Chargers will return to Scott O’Leary Stadium to face the Pacifica Tritons at home on Dec. 17.
